Beej Ganesha
Medium - Sculpting Clay, Water Colors
Dimensions - 5" X 5" X 6"
Ganesha also known as Ganapati or Vinayaka, is one of the best-known and most worshiped deities in the Hindu pantheon.
Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences and the deva of intellect and wisdom. As the god of beginnings, he is honored at the start of rites and ceremonies.
This sculpture is made for an Indian festival "Ganesh Chaturthi". The celebration varied from 1.5 over to 11 days. At the end of this celebration its a customary that Ganesh idol is to be immersed in the water.
This year I decided to keep this Ganesh sculpture eco friendly in best possible ways. The idol contains Lemon seeds, and I am planning to immerse this idol in a garden pot and hoping to raise Lemon tree.

A Pencil
A Pencil -
Going back to basics; working with papers, scissors, glue and deriving a pleasure of crafting a 3D model from the scratch. Something very fundamental, a tool any artist can crave for, an extension to his soul, which helps him to channelize his creative flow - A Pencil.
Spent a very productive time with my son and we created a 8" card paper pencil model. Something to inspire my youngling, who will be entering Pre-K very soon!
Medium - Card papers
Dimensions - 8" X 6" X 6"

Mini Garden
May be an old approach, but newer to me, a way to get close to mother nature.
I am growing small portable garden using old mugs and pots.
Very negligible investment, though considerable returns.
It's was great feeling to see little flowers blooming in this mini garden.
Happiness does come in small packets, we have to cherish it!

Living Dreams with open Eyes
As a part of sculpture assignment, we were made to create a mask of any arbitrary person.
The organic and mathematical circular
structures around this mask represent ideas and dreams.
"Living dreams with open eyes" is not just a mask; Its who I am, its who you are.
We all are surrounded by our dreams. But a real dream is the one, which keeps us "awake".
Medium : Clay (Glazed with Red Oxide and Clear)

Holding Nature
Holding Nature - For spring semester we had an assignment to make a life size proportional hand. I had used my left hand for the reference :)
For a little twist, with Sonal' s suggestion; added a small bird residing on top two fingers. (Simply of the hand, since just hand alone was looking incomplete). A small bush and a flower at the bottom of the hand gave a balance to the structure - A hand holding a nature
Medium - Clay, Glazed
Dimensions - Height - ~ 18"
The Process - For those who are interested, following are the glimpse of the making of this structure
1. Green ware -
The clay was wet at this stage. A Bird, a bush and a flower were added later on (unfortunately did not take pictures of those stages)
Once the structure was completely dry; it went under a brisk fire, and that made it ready for glazing.
3. Before Final Fire -
White color was a coat of a clear glaze - on the top of blends of different glazes. The piece was finally ready to get glaze fired. The fire causes the magic - a chemical reaction, which transforms dull looking glaze powder in to colorful and shiny coat.
4. After fire - a final product!

Moods
Moods - This was my term project for drawing class (taken at Sinclair Community College, Ohio). The project objective was to select any object and create six different views and present them in the meaningful way. I chose a Teddy Bear for my project. Teddy was presented with six different moods (starting from Left top to Right) – Love, Sadness, Anger, Amazement, Curiosity & Playfulness; portraying Kid's mood. These six moods were then presented as a comic strip poster. Actual (4 feet tall) Teddy Bear doll was used for a reference, the lighting were arranged at different angles, in order to get different tempers. There was restriction of two colors (excluding white) for this assignment. Brown and Black were used for this composition; brown color was the sheds of Tea (boiled at different temperatures to get different color concentrations) and black marker pens were used for shedding.
This was dedicated to my 4 months old Son :)
Dimensions - 18" X 23"
Medium - Black Ink on Water Color Paper. The paper was first tainted with shades of Tea. The digital copy of this work has been edited with the help of Microsoft Paint and Google Picasa 3.0.
